Subcontracting Dental Insurance

I don't know why some companies sub contract dental insurance through a 3rd party? It sometimes causes the members to become like a ping pong ball going from one company to the other to resolve an issue.

Any idea why?

I personally think that they don't want to deal with the retail head ache, so this way the sub contracted company goes out gets the deal, gets the client and big boys are making the bucks.
